- Ventus S1 evo3 ev confidently transmits the power of the performance SUV to the road
- High driving stability in corners and outstanding grip on wet and dry roads
- Hankook on board as an OEM since the first generation of the Porsche Macan
Seoul, Korea, July 18, 2025 — An electrifying combination: global leading tire company Hankook Tire & Technology (Hankook Tire) is supplying the new Porsche Macan with the Ventus S1 evo3 ev ex works. In the size 235/55R20Y XL on the front axle and 285/45R20Y XL on the rear axle as well as bearing the “NE0” marking on the side wall, the summer tire brings the latest technology to the road. Specially tailored to the powerful Porsche Macan, it ensures optimum power transmission and maximum driving stability – even at high torques.
“Equipping the new, all-electric Porsche Macan – one of the highest-selling Porsche model series – with our premium tires is another milestone in our successful partnership with the sports car manufacturer,” says Jongho Park, President of Hankook Tire Europe. “Our technologies are ready for the requirements of the next generation of sporty electric vehicles.”
More range thanks to optimized rolling resistance
With the Ventus S1 evo3 ev, Hankook is supplying a tire with exemplary all-round qualities for the Porsche Macan. The tread compound confidently transmits the above-average drive torque of the electric Porsche SUV to the road, while increasing the range thanks to optimized rolling resistance. At the same time, the tread pattern offers excellent grip on wet and dry road surfaces with a wide and stable center tread block. A further advantage of the tread compound, which has been designed specifically for the outstanding acceleration of electric vehicles, is the high abrasion resistance.
In addition, the carefully balanced tread design provides excellent acoustic comfort, by significantly reducing the already low noise emissions of the electric vehicle once again. This ensures a quieter ride for both drivers and passengers, as the tread pattern is specifically designed to minimize tire noise that might otherwise be perceived as intrusive inside the vehicle due to the absence of engine noise.
The premium tire is also characterized by an especially robust carcass construction to carry the intrinsically heavy electric vehicle weight of 2.4 metric tons. This is made possible by high-performance fibers that offer high stability at a low weight relative to the size of the tire. The use of aramid hybrid cord reduces tread pattern deformation at high speeds in particular. This improves the transverse stability in corners and when changing lanes, something that is essential for a powerful, sporty vehicle like the Porsche Macan.
